Beat the heat

August 3, 2011

In high summer, there’s nothing like a long, flowing maxi skirt to keep you cool. I love this patterned skirt not only for its lovely shades of green, but because it has two hidden pockets. Perfect for hiding treasures while you explore, or a pair of sunglasses while wandering in and out of shops.

Head to toe H&M excluding Delux fedora, Fossil watch, Spring ring, and Toms

This little ring is one of my favorites lately. It pairs perfectly with blue or green tones, as well as floral prints. And I just realized now that my nails kind of match the skirt, both are a broken shattered pattern!

I hope you’re having a great week, and going on your own adventures in the sun!

Over the weekend

August 1, 2011

Just a brief post to get back into the swing of blogging again. I have had a very busy summer so far, volunteering at a summer camp, training for a new job, and going on adventures wherever I can. I recently bought a new camera, and I can’t wait to experiment with it and hopefully update this blog more!

Here are a few pictures of my weekend. I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely summer weather, as I sure am!

Wearing a Delux fedora, H&M tank and necklace

Wearing H&M shirt and necklace, Talula hoodie

Wearing Delux fedora, H&M sweater top and shorts, James&Jules sandals

Summer seems to have only just arrived, so I hope to capture all the summer outfits I have been dieing to wear and will post them here soon. See you soon!

I can see the light

May 11, 2011

Well what do you know, it’s finally spring!

Sorry I have been M.I.A. lately…. Work has been super busy! I was sent out of town for business, then I got sick, then when I was finally home I had a lot of commitments and that left me no time for blogging. But I’m super excited not only to be back here blogging, but to be collaborating with a friend of mine that’s a photographer to do some fun photo shoots! I have lots of great ideas so I will be posting regularly again. Oh, and did I mention I’m going to Mexico?

For now here is a sneak peek at some of my inspiration for the spring:

I would love to pack up a bag like this one from Fossil and go away for the weekend

This is the pool I will be lounging in when I’m in Mexico 🙂

I have five little daisy’s sprouting in this nifty little pot I got at H&M with their Conscious Collection. grow little flowers!!!

That’s all for now, I hope you are enjoying all the spring showers! That can only mean one thing, a glorious summer is up ahead!

Lets GO!

March 14, 2011

As spring starts creeping up, I’m getting super excited to pack away my winter closet and pull out my spring/summer closet!

With each season I try and get ride of items I have held onto but still haven’t worn to make room for anything new I add to my closet. So far I’ve been pretty active in finding new pieces for spring lol

Target just launched another Go International collection, and this time they brought back some of the most popular dresses they have sold over the past 5 years. I can’t believe they have been collaborating that long! I remember getting my mom to drive me down to Bellingham so I could shop the Luelle Bartley collection. There wasn’t much left, but I did score a super cute green skirt and a skull and bones clutch. Still a favorite to this day!

Since then I snatched up a gorgeous light blue Rodarte dress:

This time I checked the website on launch day to ensure I could get my hands on this lovely slip inspired Rodarte dress:

and this vintage inspired floral frock from Tucker:

I can’t wait to style them up for spring!! I might even wear the Rodarte dress to a wedding. I also hope that the weather picks up so I can take more outfit shots outside. Indoor lighting isn’t really the best for photos. I have some good outfits planned, including a variety of spring trends that I’m loving this year. Stay tuned!!

Choose the shoe

March 8, 2011

Hi everyone, soryy I’ve been quite busy and not posting lately.

I need your opinions though. I found some comfortable shoes I want for work, but can’t decided on the color (crazy right?)

So, should I stick with the pink/purple pair I bought:

or get the distressed grey I just returned back?

All opinions greatly appreciated! Have a good week everyone

I’d wear that

February 28, 2011

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

We got a big dump of snow that kept me inside, but I did get to watch the Oscars! My favorite dress of the night was on Mila Kunis. She wore a stunning Elie Saab lilac dress with gorgeous details, and she looked amazing! If I could have any one of the fabulous dresses worn last night in my wardrobe, it would be this one!!

Purple is one of my favorite colors lately. Not only did I paint my room a deep purple (with white accents), but I also wore lilac purple to my high school grad.

Well back to reality, and work for another week. See you soon!

I was born this way

February 22, 2011

Hi all. I hope you had a good weekend. I spent most of mine indoors trying to stay warm! We have a crazy cold front at the moment that is making it very hard to get dressed in the morning.

Any ways, tomorrow is Pink Shirt day, which make me happy because a) I like pink, and b) because I think it’s great people are paying more attention to bullying that goes on in schools.  I was bullied in school, well more like picked on by some girls that used to be my friends. It never really bothered me too much, and I just avoided them and got through school because after that I wouldn’t have to see them again. But I never really told anyone about it.  Who knows if they would have stopped, or became better people but either way I still feel like I want to stick up for all those little kids that get teased or picked on in school.

So wear pink tomorrow, and maybe kids will finally get along with each other while in school and learn to get along with other people through out their lives.

In other news, this amazing little girl from Winnipeg has become famous pretty much overnight for her cover of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. She has an amazing voice and really does the song justice. She personifies the reason why so many people love Gaga and her music. Check it out!

Quick update

February 17, 2011

Hi all! I hope you’re having a lovely week 🙂

Just a quick update before I’m off again. I had a lovely Valentines day with my boy, which involved yummy Greek food and a giant bouquet of flowers (it didn’t fit in our booth!). I had this idea to take some pictures in a photo booth and make a card out of it. I ran out of time to go to a real photo booth, but I found a digital one that really impressed me. This is the strip I ended up using:

If you are wondering about the last photo, it’s actually a flier for this site. I discovered it while reading Jen Loves Kev. Her wonderful husband created this website where people can dedicate their love, and it’s a reminder each time of how much he loves her *squee*. So I thought it would be a perfect Valentines card.

Last weekend I spent the day in down town Vancouver to soak up some Olympic memories and see the cauldron re-lite.  It was a great day, even with a rain storm. But at 4pm when the cauldron burst into flame it stopped raining.

While I wandered around down town, I went into the Bay and was lucky enough to try on some Olympic memorabilia. It was amazing to feel even more of a part of Canada’s victory in Hockey last year (both our men and women won gold!)

So that’s my week in a quick re-cap. See you next week!!

What’s in that purse?

February 16, 2011

First of all, I love purses. Second of all, I love throwing stuff in my purse.

When I was a teenager, me and my best friends would go through each others purses if we were bored and see what interesting things we had in there. Now I try to keep my purse a bit more organized, but I still like having stuff in there just in case.

Everyone by now has done a “what’s in my purse” post, so I thought I would share what’s in mine. I really like Stef’s post from Keep your Guns At Home because her purse is gorgeous!!! And Rebecca The Clothes Horse did this really cute stop motion video of her purse contents a while ago that makes me wish I could make those little videos.

So this is the purse I am currently using, the Kensie Girl cross shoulder bag I picked up cross boarder shopping a while ago:

From left to right: Moleskin day planner and Papermate Biodegradable pen, Rayban glasses, Victoria’s Secret mints, Soapopular hand sanitizer, Clinique Chubby Stick lip color balm & travel hair brush,  Fossil wallet, Harry Potter the Exhibition keychain

These are the basics I use in every purse I carry. Sometimes if I have room I throw in my digital camera and a reusable bag, because you never know where the day will take you. My favorite item at the moment is my Moleskin day planner. It has each week on the left side, and a blank lined page on right where I can make notes for myself that week. I bought a bigger version for school and loved the design, so naturally I bought another one for the new year. Plus it’s super soft to touch, and has a handy ribbon book mark built in.

So what do you carry in your purse? I would love to see!!
