Light as air

August 11, 2011

Pink is my favorite color, there’s no doubt. It always looks good! From either extremely hot pink to pale soft pink, it’s always gorgeous. Pink floral prints, pink polka dots, there’s not comparison.  Needless to say, there is a lot of pink in my wardrobe.

I love how these nail strips turned out. They are fun, but easy to pair with outfits. It’s just the right hint of color.

Wearing Forever21 Shirt, H&M Scarf and Jeans

My outfit was comfortable, but cute in its own way. I love this scarf, but sadly don’t wear it that often. The pink flowers are what draws me to it, and paired with a loose top they work perfectly with sleepy mornings. Oh, how I am ready for the weekend!!

And just for fun, here’s an out-take when my cat became interested….

Beat the heat

August 3, 2011

In high summer, there’s nothing like a long, flowing maxi skirt to keep you cool. I love this patterned skirt not only for its lovely shades of green, but because it has two hidden pockets. Perfect for hiding treasures while you explore, or a pair of sunglasses while wandering in and out of shops.

Head to toe H&M excluding Delux fedora, Fossil watch, Spring ring, and Toms

This little ring is one of my favorites lately. It pairs perfectly with blue or green tones, as well as floral prints. And I just realized now that my nails kind of match the skirt, both are a broken shattered pattern!

I hope you’re having a great week, and going on your own adventures in the sun!

Over the weekend

August 1, 2011

Just a brief post to get back into the swing of blogging again. I have had a very busy summer so far, volunteering at a summer camp, training for a new job, and going on adventures wherever I can. I recently bought a new camera, and I can’t wait to experiment with it and hopefully update this blog more!

Here are a few pictures of my weekend. I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely summer weather, as I sure am!

February 11, 2011

So if you didn’t notice, I couldn’t quite get the posts up this week that I wanted. Work has been crazy, and the weather not so nice so I didn’t get a chance to photograph the outfits I had planned. However, I did snap some quick pictures of the outfits anyways in a make-shift studio (aka my room).

This first outfit is a casual but cute outfit you could wear to work, or out on a date. Paired with flats or heels, it’s fun and showcases my love of Polaroids.

T-shirt and Skirt- H&M

The next outfit is casual but cute. I could see myself wearing it on my day off to run errands, or to meet up with some girl friends. I would pair this outfit with flats or little jazz shoes. You can still have fun on Valentines day with some of your closest friends!!!!

Tank top, Boyfriend Blazer and Jeans – H&M, Vintage Coach purse

If you are looking for something a bit more dressed up, or to impress a certain someone, I would wear a sexy little dress like this one. Paired with simple accessories, it will be sure to catch their attention.

Dress and Heart Purse – H&M, Steve Madden Heels

What are your plans for this lovely Valentines weekend? I am going to celebrate with the city of Vancouver as it is the one year anniversary of the 2010 Winter Olympics. There will be lots of free events happening down town, including street hockey and free skating! Hope your weekend is fun as well, and have a Happy Valentines!

Simplicity

February 5, 2011

Lately I have really been enjoying a good, comfy hoodie. I haven’t had the urge to buy one since high school, but when I pulled all my old ones out they are all thin and worn in. Which is fine, but in the winter you want something thing thick and cozy to keep you warm.

I found this nice gray one at Aritzia on sale after christmas so I thought, why not? It has now become one of my favorite go-to sweaters in the morning. It keeps me warm, and I can even wear it over dresses at work. The pockets sure do come in handy! I kind of love how a simple hoodie can still look good layered over a super girly dress….

dreaming of better weather

February 2, 2011

I kind of hate the transition between seasons. Don’t get me wrong, I like all the cute layers that come with chilly late summer evenings and the first glimpse of sun on late winter days. But misty rain and the transition from hot to cold sure sucks! I wish it would just instantly be sunny and clear or cold and snowy, non of this  in between crap.

Since it was so rainy last week, I decided to buy a new sweater to live in until spring. I love these TNA raglan sweater tops. They are made of a comfy fine knit material that stretch and keep you just warm enough inside without being too hot. I have them in 4 colors at the moment. I picked this striped one up because I don’t really have many striped items in my wardrobe. Plus it looks super cute with this little hat.

Outfit details: Striped sweater top-TNA, long tank top;black jeggings;faux leather jacket;cloche-H&M, purse-Kensie, Boots-Dirty Laundry

As the weather gets better each week, I’m already starting to look in my spring/summer clothing that has been hidden away and trying to incorporate it into my current wardrobe. Thank goodness for leggings and cardigans!!

the lovely little fox

January 26, 2011

Remember that cute dress named after fashion blogger Jen from Jen Loves Kev that I ordered? Well it finally arrived, and I couldn’t wait to style it!!!

The fox print is super cute and unique, and I love how the ruffle on the front isn’t sewed down to the dress. It gives you the versatility to wear a belt on top or underneath. I also had some luck at the mall the other day and scored these cute wedge sandals from Zara and the trousers socks from Aritzia, for $10 each. Combined with tights and a cardigan, necessary in this chilly weather, I think it looks quite cute. Exactly how I imagined wearing it when I first saw the dress.

Jen Loves Kev dress- Mod Cloth, Cardigan-H&M, Socks-Aritzia, Sandals-Zara, Tights-Winners, Belt-Thrifted

My bangs are in the awkward state where they are too long to be in front of my face, but too short to blend into the rest of my hair. I have been meaning to get around to them but the hair stylist I usually went to kind of disappeared from the salon I used to go to. So I’m trying a new stylist that comes highly recommended from a friend.

I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far, I know I’m looking forward to another long weekend myself 🙂

As seamless as a winter’s dream….

November 14, 2010

This weekend I decided to enjoy one of my days off by taking a walk in the rain. Simple, yet I don’t ever have the time to just do nothing anymore so I really enjoyed it.

First, I wandered around down town New West. Columbia street is really cute and old fashioned, and I quite like it. I can’t wait for the new Quay market to open, now known as the River Market.

The sweater I am wearing is my favorite new sweater. It’s cozy and warm, and has a cute little toggle closure. Plus it’s mostly cotton so it won’t pill like some of my wool sweaters. I’m in all H&M except for my lovely Rocket Dog boots that kept my feet dry from the rain.
*not pictured is my trusty Joe Fresh rain jacket

next I crossed the street onto the board walk and discovered this old steam ship play area for kids. It made the perfect location for an impromptu photo shoot.

In the end it was a very successful walk in the rain. I will be doing a lot more of that soon, I want to go to Fort Langley next weekend with the boy 🙂

p.s. I was at Super Store tonight and scored some of the cute Barbie ❤ Joe pj’s

wedding bells

August 3, 2010

I recently attended an amazing wedding , in a lovely little backyard on Vancouver Island. I was planning on wearing a dress from my closet as I have a few fancy ones I save for special occasions, but when I came across this dress at H&M I had to have it. So my excuse for purchasing it was to wear to this wedding. It’s perfect, cute and summery, plus it has pockets!!

My friend now lives on a gorgeous property that has a rolling field with long grass, and even some forrest in the back. I had to take the opportunity and snap a few pictures.

my friend even caught a cute picture of me running in the field, which was quite fun!!

and here are some more pictures from the weekend:

they had the cutest little garden area when you first walked into the backyard

this is one of my good friends, Olivia, and I at the wedding

they decorated their yard with lots of lanterns for the evening, it was so pretty!!

they also had a tire swing, and well I couldn’t resist!!

That pretty much sums up my weekend. I am so happy for my friends and their marriage.  Best of luck and lots of love to you!!
