Light as air

August 11, 2011

Pink is my favorite color, there’s no doubt. It always looks good! From either extremely hot pink to pale soft pink, it’s always gorgeous. Pink floral prints, pink polka dots, there’s not comparison.  Needless to say, there is a lot of pink in my wardrobe.

I love how these nail strips turned out. They are fun, but easy to pair with outfits. It’s just the right hint of color.

Wearing Forever21 Shirt, H&M Scarf and Jeans

My outfit was comfortable, but cute in its own way. I love this scarf, but sadly don’t wear it that often. The pink flowers are what draws me to it, and paired with a loose top they work perfectly with sleepy mornings. Oh, how I am ready for the weekend!!

And just for fun, here’s an out-take when my cat became interested….

Beat the heat

August 3, 2011

In high summer, there’s nothing like a long, flowing maxi skirt to keep you cool. I love this patterned skirt not only for its lovely shades of green, but because it has two hidden pockets. Perfect for hiding treasures while you explore, or a pair of sunglasses while wandering in and out of shops.

Head to toe H&M excluding Delux fedora, Fossil watch, Spring ring, and Toms

This little ring is one of my favorites lately. It pairs perfectly with blue or green tones, as well as floral prints. And I just realized now that my nails kind of match the skirt, both are a broken shattered pattern!

I hope you’re having a great week, and going on your own adventures in the sun!

Over the weekend

August 1, 2011

Just a brief post to get back into the swing of blogging again. I have had a very busy summer so far, volunteering at a summer camp, training for a new job, and going on adventures wherever I can. I recently bought a new camera, and I can’t wait to experiment with it and hopefully update this blog more!

Here are a few pictures of my weekend. I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely summer weather, as I sure am!

Wearing a Delux fedora, H&M tank and necklace

Wearing H&M shirt and necklace, Talula hoodie

Wearing Delux fedora, H&M sweater top and shorts, James&Jules sandals

Summer seems to have only just arrived, so I hope to capture all the summer outfits I have been dieing to wear and will post them here soon. See you soon!

L.A., check!

September 30, 2010

Simply put, I love traveling! There are many places in the world I want to explore, and I decided to start with some close to home.

I visited LA in August as a post graduation celebration. That and my secret obsession with Harry Potter found me a travel buddy that introduced me to this amazing Harry Potter store. We had an amazing time and I would go back to LA in a heart beat if someone handed me a plane ticket (non-stop please, we took 3 flights to get there and I’m now sick of planes).

here is our hotel, located just down the hill from universal Studios

and here is Universal City walk, where we spent a few nights wandering around all the shops, eating yummy food and just enjoying our vacation

and this is all the Harry potter loot I bought. I can’t wait to go to the theme park in Florida next year!!!!

old school Universal Studios sign

on the last day I went to the grove to check out the farmers market. it was so cute and I bought some real food! (fresh grapes) plus I got to do a bit of shopping 🙂

I must say, I really enjoyed California. Next time I think I will drive, that way I can explore a lot more along the way and in the city.  Until then I’m off to the other side of America, New York City 🙂

I will always love you, Hollywood…………………………………………..

Spotted Moth

August 17, 2010

While browsing my usual blogs in an attempt to forget about school, I came across a really cute website today that I had to share with you. It’s called Spotted Moth, and I seriously have fallen in love with all their clothing!!

Not only is their August photo shoot pretty much a mirror image of a shoot I did recently, but all the dresses and necklaces are perfectly girly and would fit right into my wardrobe. In fact, I ordered the Cecily tank (seen in their August shoot) as soon as I saw it!!

I discovered this site thanks to Jen from Jen Loves Kev. Then when I went on Spotted Moth’s blog they have photos on the side showing other bloggers that have worn their pieces, and I’ve totally seen them before! Well on some of the other blogs I read, such as Keiko Lynn’s blog and The Clothes Horse’s blog.

I highly suggest you check out their website and blog for inspiration!

wedding bells

August 3, 2010

I recently attended an amazing wedding , in a lovely little backyard on Vancouver Island. I was planning on wearing a dress from my closet as I have a few fancy ones I save for special occasions, but when I came across this dress at H&M I had to have it. So my excuse for purchasing it was to wear to this wedding. It’s perfect, cute and summery, plus it has pockets!!

My friend now lives on a gorgeous property that has a rolling field with long grass, and even some forrest in the back. I had to take the opportunity and snap a few pictures.

my friend even caught a cute picture of me running in the field, which was quite fun!!

and here are some more pictures from the weekend:

they had the cutest little garden area when you first walked into the backyard

this is one of my good friends, Olivia, and I at the wedding

they decorated their yard with lots of lanterns for the evening, it was so pretty!!

they also had a tire swing, and well I couldn’t resist!!

That pretty much sums up my weekend. I am so happy for my friends and their marriage.  Best of luck and lots of love to you!!

simply summer

August 2, 2010

As my weekend comes to an end, I look back on all the fun I’ve had so far this summer and really appreciate itl. Since the weather turned nice, and stayed nice, I’ve been enjoying the great outdoors. This also means I’ve been a little pre-occupied and have neglected the blog.

Today’s outfit was something I just threw on for comfort, but at the same time just girly enough to be me. It’s hard to see but this silk tank top has a lovely flower print on it. I added the necklace because it’s fun, and sadly I don’t wear it often enough.

(head to toe H&M)

Tomorrow I have a great outfit to show you, but for some reason my paint shop doesn’t want to work so I will have to crop the photos at school. Hope everyone had a lovely long weekend!!

fly like paper…

July 29, 2010

Hi all, sorry I’ve been m.i.a. lately. It’s getting near the end of my last semester (!!!) so I’m in the middle of finnishing up final projects and preparing for exams. In the mean time I will leave you with some pictures of what has been inspiring me lately.

So far I have to admit it has been a pretty good summer, even though I have to go to school. I’m already getting excited for fall; seeing all the new collections on the runways finall appearing in stores, looking forward to some trips I have planned, and the excitment of finding my dream job once I graduate.

I hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather and is making hte best of summer 2010 while we still have it. Untill next time, please enjoy these pictures:

summer is here!

July 6, 2010

Today I took advantage of the first day of nice weather in quite some time by breaking in some new clothes. The city of Vancouver has shut down parts of Granville to cars during the summer and set up astro turf for pedestrians to walk on, and in today’s case sit on to watch the World Cup! I got a friend to snap a quick picture of my outfit in the gorgeous sunshine.

I found these really cute vintage denim shorts last week at Value Village, and the graphic t-shirt is from Forever 21. The outfit was vintage inspired so I paired it with my pink brogues and cat eye sunnies from H&M.

I hope everyone is having a nice summer so far! I know I plan on heading to the beach soon 🙂
